Cooled CCD cameras

Lambert Instruments represents: Apogee’s Alta Cooled CCD cameras with high sensitivity, up to 90% q.e. (quantum efficiency), high resolution, wide dynamic range and selectable speed. Alta Cooled CCD cameras are available with a wide variety of CCDs from 512 x 512 up to 4096 x 4096, with 100baseT Ethernet or USB 2.0 interface. For astronomy and life sciences applications. Alta Cooled CCD cameras: in B/W and colour versions.
By cooling the CCD image sensor, the dark current is lowered, allowing image acquisition at very low light levels where long exposure times are needed. To increase the camera sensitivity even more, the read-out noise is reduced by using a lower read-out speed. These techniques are used in high performance 12 and 16 bits digital cameras. The latest software and firmware revisions and configuration tools can be found on Apogee’s Alta Update Page.
